U-Type Rotary Encoder Module for Arduino
The rotary encoder is a device which can measure the rotating speed and realize the fast speed regulation with PWM technology. The photoelectric rotary encoder can convert the angular displacement, angular speed and other mechanical quantities of the output shaft into corresponding electrical pulses and output them in digital quantities through photoelectric conversion. It can be divided into single output and double output. Single output means that the output of rotary encoder is a group of pulses, while the output of double output rotary encoder is two groups of pulses with a / B phase difference of 90 degrees. Through these two groups of pulses, not only the speed can be measured, but also the direction of rotation can be determined. The module is dual output. The phase difference of channel signal sequence of a and B in encoder output signal is 90 degrees. When the main shaft rotates clockwise, channel a is in front of channel B; when the main shaft rotates counterclockwise, channel a is behind channel B. So as to determine whether the spindle is rotating forward or reverse.
